The best funnel builder for agencies, scored

You have a client waiting and a tab open on five funnel builders, all of them shouting "unlimited". Here is the same five scored on the eight things that decide it, with the yearly cost of running ten client funnels worked out in full.

It is a Tuesday, you have a new client who paid last week, and their funnel is due Friday. You have five browser tabs open. Every one of them says "unlimited" and "no code" and puts a price in a big friendly number, and not one of them tells you the thing you actually need to know: which of these will still make sense when you have ten clients instead of one, and which will quietly cost you four figures a month you did not plan for. That is the real question behind "what is the best funnel builder", and the answer depends less on the builder and more on whether you are running one funnel for yourself or running funnels as a business.

This is a scorecard, not a sales page. Five tools, eight criteria, the arithmetic of running ten client funnels for a year, and an honest note on where each one is the right call, including the cases where the tool we sell for is the wrong one. Prices in here were all checked on 21 September 2026 and every figure carries its source. If you want the deeper head to head on the two most people are torn between, that lives in GoHighLevel vs ClickFunnels; this piece is the wider shortlist.

The three categories nobody separates

Half the confusion when you compare these tools is that they are not the same kind of thing. "Funnel builder" gets stuck on all of them, but they sit in three different layers, and the layer decides what work is left over for you after the pages are built.

A page builder makes landing pages and forms, and stops there. It is very good at the page: fast editors, strong templates, real A/B testing. What it does not do is remember the person who filled the form. The moment a lead opts in, a page builder hands that lead to something else and forgets it happened. Unbounce and Instapage live here.

A funnel builder adds the sequence. It knows a squeeze page leads to a sales page leads to an order form with a bump leads to a one-time-offer upsell leads to a thank-you page, and it wires the money steps together so a card charged on the order form can be charged again on the upsell without a second checkout. ClickFunnels is the name most people mean here. It builds the flow, not just the page.

An all-in-one adds everything that happens after the sale: the contact record, the pipeline, the email and SMS that follow up, the booking calendar, the tags that decide who gets what. GoHighLevel and Systeme.io sit here, at very different price points. The funnel is one feature among many rather than the whole product.

Why this matters for an agency: a funnel that converts and then drops the lead into nothing is a funnel that loses the sale on the follow-up, and most service-business sales happen on the follow-up, not the first visit. If you build on a page builder, you are buying a CRM and an automation tool separately and gluing three subscriptions together per client. That glue is where client funnels break. The anatomy of a funnel that actually converts assumes the follow-up is wired in, which is exactly the part a page builder leaves to you.

A diagram of three stacked layers showing page builders handling pages and forms, funnel builders adding order forms and upsells, and all-in-one platforms adding CRM, automation and booking, with example tools beside each layer.
The layer a tool sits in tells you how much you still have to bolt on yourself per client.

The eight things that actually decide it

These are the criteria that separate a tool that works for one funnel from a tool that works as the spine of a funnel business. Score any builder you are looking at against all eight before the price talks you into anything.

  1. Entry monthly cost. The number on the card, billed monthly, before annual discounts you may not want to commit to.
  2. Client sub-accounts. Can you give each client a walled-off space, or does every client share one login and one asset list where a rename breaks three funnels at once.
  3. CRM and pipeline built in. Does a lead become a contact record with a stage, or does it vanish into an export.
  4. Email and SMS automation included. Can the follow-up sequence live in the same tool as the funnel, or is that another subscription.
  5. A/B split testing. Can you test the headline and the offer inside the tool, and on which plan does testing unlock. This is where the split testing you can trust either lives or does not.
  6. Booking calendars. For any service business, the funnel ends in a booked call. Native calendars beat a third-party embed that breaks tracking.
  7. White-label and rebilling. Can you put your brand on it and bill the client for usage, or is the vendor always in the room.
  8. Time to a live funnel. From empty account to a funnel taking real leads: hours with a template or a snapshot, or days building from a blank canvas.

Notice how few of those are about the page editor. Every tool here has a competent editor. The decision is almost never the editor. It is the seven things around the editor, and an agency feels all seven the moment the client count climbs past one.

The scorecard

Here is the five, scored on the eight. Prices are the entry monthly rate checked 21 September 2026, confirmed across multiple current pricing pages rather than fetched live, and the vendor pricing pages are named under each figure below the table.

The pattern is not subtle. The page builders win a single row, split testing, and it is a real win: Unbounce and Instapage are built to squeeze a paid-traffic landing page harder than anything else on the list. The all-in-ones win almost everything an agency touches after the opt-in. ClickFunnels sits in the middle, strong on the funnel flow itself and thin on everything after it.

A capability matrix rating GoHighLevel, ClickFunnels, Unbounce, Instapage and Systeme.io across the seven non-price criteria, with GoHighLevel filled on every row and the page builders filled mainly on split testing.
Strip out the price and the split-testing row is the only one the page builders take. The rest of what an agency lives in goes to the all-in-ones.

What it really costs to run ten client funnels

The card price is for one seat. An agency does not run one funnel, so the honest cost is the cost at scale. Here is the arithmetic for a modest book of ten clients, one funnel each, on entry plans, billed monthly. The assumption is visible so you can swap your own numbers in.

GoHighLevel Unlimited is $297 a month, and its unlimited sub-accounts mean those ten clients live on one bill. That is $297 times 12, which is $3,564 for the year, or about $356 per client. Source for the plan price: gohighlevel.com/pricing, three tiers at $97, $297 and $497 a month, checked 21 September 2026.

A page builder has no client sub-account model, so ten clients is ten seats. Take Unbounce at its $99 Build plan, or Instapage at its $99 Create plan. Ten seats times $99 times 12 is $11,880 for the year, or $1,188 per client, and you still have no CRM, no SMS and no booking in that number. Sources: unbounce.com and instapage.com pricing, both entry plans at $99 a month, checked 21 September 2026.

Systeme.io is the budget surprise. Its Unlimited plan is $97 a month with sub-accounts, so ten clients is $97 times 12, which is $1,164 for the year. That is the cheapest all-in-one path on the board by a distance. Source: systeme.io/pricing, free plan plus Startup $17, Webinar $47 and Unlimited $97 a month, checked 21 September 2026.

ClickFunnels is the awkward one to cost, because it has no client sub-account model either. Its Startup plan is $97 a month for one workspace. Run ten clients in that one workspace and you get the governance problem from the scorecard, everyone sharing one asset list. Give each client their own account and you are at ten times $97 times 12, which is $11,640 a year. Source: clickfunnels.com pricing, Startup $97 and Pro $297 a month, checked 21 September 2026.

A bar chart comparing the yearly cost of ten client funnels: one GoHighLevel Unlimited account near $3,564, Systeme.io Unlimited near $1,164, and ten separate page-builder seats near $11,880.
The gap is not the sticker price. It is whether one bill covers ten clients or ten bills do.

Read the chart the right way. Systeme.io is cheapest, GoHighLevel is mid, the stacked page-builder seats are triple either. But price is one of eight criteria, not the whole decision. The cheapest tool that cannot rebill your clients or run the follow-up is not cheap once you add back the tools it makes you buy. The point of the number is to kill one specific mistake: choosing a per-seat page builder as your agency spine and watching the bill scale with your client count instead of staying flat.

Where each tool is the right answer

None of these is bad software. Each is the correct pick for a specific situation, and pretending otherwise is how people end up on a tool that fights them.

Pick a page builder if the page is the whole job

If you run paid traffic to a single landing page and your entire life is lifting that one conversion rate, Unbounce or Instapage earns its keep. Their testing and their optimisation features are ahead of everything else here, and if the follow-up genuinely lives in a separate mature stack you already trust, the missing CRM is not your problem. This is the ad-agency-doing-conversion-optimisation case, not the funnel-agency case.

Pick ClickFunnels if you sell one thing and love the flow

ClickFunnels is genuinely good at the funnel as a sequence, and its template library gets a classic value-ladder shape live quickly. If you are an offer owner with one or two funnels, not an agency with a client list, and you do not need to hand each client a walled-off account, it does the job. The moment you need client sub-accounts or rebilling, it runs out of room.

Pick Systeme.io if you are starting and broke

The free plan is a real free plan, and the Unlimited plan is the cheapest all-in-one with sub-accounts anywhere on this list. If you are on client one or two and every dollar counts, Systeme.io lets you run a full funnel with follow-up for the price of a couple of coffees a month. What you trade is depth: the automation, the reporting and the ecosystem are thinner than GoHighLevel, and agencies that scale usually outgrow it.

Pick GoHighLevel if funnels are your business

One bill, unlimited client sub-accounts, CRM and pipeline and email and SMS and booking in the same place the funnel lives, and your brand on all of it. For an agency running client funnels for money, it wins the seven rows that are not the page editor, and the flat cost at scale is the difference between a tool and an overhead. The one honest catch is the blank account: GoHighLevel hands you a powerful empty builder, and building a client-ready funnel from scratch in it is days of work. That is the gap a snapshot fills, and it is why the platform and the head start are two separate decisions.

Four ways the wrong choice bites

These are the failure modes I see most often when an agency picks the tool before it picks the criteria. Each has a symptom you notice, a cause you usually miss, and a fix.

1. The lead opts in and nothing happens

Symptom: your page builder reports conversions, the client reports no new customers. Cause: the page builder captured the email and had nowhere to send it, so the follow-up sequence that turns an opt-in into a sale was never in the tool at all. With cart and form abandonment sitting around 70% on average, per the Baymard Institute meta-analysis of fifty studies at baymard.com/lists/cart-abandonment-rate, the follow-up is not a nice-to-have, it is where most of the money is. Fix: put the CRM and the automation in the same tool as the pages, or accept you are running and paying for two more systems per client.

2. The bill scales with the client count

Symptom: you signed three new clients and your software cost jumped by $300 a month. Cause: a per-seat tool with no sub-account model, where every client is another full subscription. Fix: a platform where one bill covers many clients, which is the whole reason the cost chart above splits the way it does.

3. One rename breaks three funnels

Symptom: you tidy up a workflow for one client and two other clients stop getting their emails. Cause: all your clients share one account and one asset list, so there is no wall between them. This is the ClickFunnels-at-agency-scale trap and the shared-workspace version of every page builder. Fix: real client sub-accounts, or a naming discipline so strict that a snapshot built the right way prefixes every asset, which is exactly the account hygiene a good snapshot enforces.

4. Split testing lives on a plan you did not buy

Symptom: you promised the client you would test the headline and then found the button greyed out. Cause: A/B testing is a higher-tier feature on several of these tools. Unbounce gates it above its entry Build plan, and Instapage gates it above its entry Create plan. Fix: read the plan the testing lives on before you quote the client, not after, or use a platform where testing is not a paywalled tier.

Three objections worth answering

If you were arguing back at the screen during the scorecard, here are the three points you were probably making, answered straight.

"GoHighLevel is more than I need."

Maybe it is. If you are one person with one offer and no clients, the honest answer is that Systeme.io or even a page builder plus a simple email tool will serve you, and you should not pay for an agency platform to run a single funnel. The all-in-one earns its price when you have clients to keep separate and follow-ups to automate at volume. Buy the tool for the business you run this quarter, not the one you hope to run next year.

"A snapshot is not the same as a builder, so why is it in this conversation."

Correct, and worth being exact about. A snapshot is not a platform. It is the funnel content that goes onto the platform, and on this site it goes onto GoHighLevel. Buying one does not replace your GoHighLevel subscription, it fills the empty builder that subscription hands you. The platform decision is which of these five you run. The snapshot decision is whether you build the funnel from a blank canvas over several days or import one built for your niche and go live the same afternoon. Snapshots on this site run from $905 one time, sorted by the offer you actually run rather than by industry, and what arrives is a snapshot share link and a PDF with the full installation instructions, within 24 business hours.

"I already have a page builder I like, so switching is a hassle."

Then do not switch the page, switch what happens after it. You can keep a page builder for pure paid-traffic landing pages and still run your client funnels and follow-up on an all-in-one, using the page builder only where its testing depth genuinely pays. The mistake is not owning a page builder. The mistake is trying to run a funnel business on one, where the missing CRM, the missing automation and the per-seat cost quietly do the damage the scorecard predicts.

The short version

If the page is the whole job and you optimise paid traffic for a living, a page builder like Unbounce or Instapage is the sharper tool, and you pay for the depth. If you are an offer owner with one or two funnels, ClickFunnels handles the flow and Systeme.io handles the budget. If funnels are your business and you carry clients, an all-in-one wins seven of the eight criteria and keeps its cost flat while your client list grows, which is why it ends up the default for agencies.

Whichever platform you land on, the second decision is speed. A blank builder is days of work per client. A funnel built for the niche, imported and rebranded, is an afternoon. That is the whole reason snapshots exist, and it is the gap between choosing the right tool and actually shipping the client something by Friday. If you would rather hand the whole build over, the custom funnel build does it end to end, but for most agencies the snapshot is the faster, cheaper start.

Frequently asked

What is the best funnel builder for a GoHighLevel agency?

For an agency running client funnels, an all-in-one platform wins because it keeps the CRM, email and SMS automation, booking and client sub-accounts in the same place as the funnel and keeps the cost flat as the client count grows. GoHighLevel is the common pick for that reason. A snapshot then fills the empty builder so you go live in an afternoon rather than days.

Is ClickFunnels or GoHighLevel better for building funnels?

ClickFunnels is stronger at the funnel as a standalone sequence and has a large template library, which suits an offer owner with one or two funnels. GoHighLevel is stronger for an agency because it adds client sub-accounts, a full CRM, native booking and white-label rebilling that ClickFunnels does not offer. The deeper head to head is in our GoHighLevel vs ClickFunnels guide.

How much does it cost to run ten client funnels?

On one GoHighLevel Unlimited account at $297 a month, ten client funnels cost about $3,564 for the year because sub-accounts are unlimited. On ten separate page-builder seats at $99 a month each, the same ten funnels cost about $11,880 a year and still lack a CRM and automation. Systeme.io Unlimited is the cheapest all-in-one path at about $1,164 a year. Prices checked 21 September 2026.

Do I still need a funnel builder if I buy a snapshot?

Yes. A snapshot is the funnel content, not the platform. It imports onto GoHighLevel and fills the builder with a funnel built for your niche, but you still need the GoHighLevel subscription underneath it. The snapshot saves the days of building, not the platform fee.

Are page builders like Unbounce and Instapage a bad choice?

No, they are the best choice when the landing page is the entire job and you optimise paid traffic for a living, because their split testing and optimisation are ahead of the all-in-ones. They become a poor choice as an agency spine because they have no CRM, no client sub-accounts and a per-seat cost that scales with every client you add.
